Fellowships and communities of practice designed to help education leaders connect with peers and cultivate more sustainable approaches to leadership. Whether built within our own network or alongside partner organizations, each community is shaped by the people and context it serves.
Fellowships
Rebus designs and facilitates fellowships for education leaders, bringing together cohorts of fellows to slow down, connect with peers, and explore sustainable, authentic, and liberatory leadership.

The Rebus Foundation, in partnership with the Leadership Learning Community, hosted the Rebus Luminary Fellowship for Education Leaders — a transformative experience reimagining what sustainable and effective leadership can look like in postsecondary education.
This fellowship brought together a cohort of 15 postsecondary education leaders from across Canada and the U.S., representing a variety of backgrounds and career stages, to cultivate sustainable, authentic, and liberatory leadership.
Over three months, participants came together in a joyful, safe space to slow down, connect with peers, and explore the possibilities of collective leadership. The fellowship included three virtual Community of Practice sessions and culminated in an in-person Summit in beautiful Vancouver, BC.
Luminary Fellowship for Education Leaders
Our Shared Values:
Reciprocity: We believe deeply in the reciprocal nature of the world. Our activities are not conducted in a vacuum, rather, everything we do is a collaborative, collective effort for the community — the onus of who we are, how we show up, what we do, and the benefits we reap are all shared.
Authenticity: We center the human experience in our work and approach by actively creating an environment that encourages and supports people to authentically show up as themselves.
Celebrating Joy: We center and celebrate joy at multiple points throughout the journey, in lieu of focusing only on the destination.
Agency: We believe that people hold possibility and use collective agency to co-design new spaces for individuals to grow and communities to thrive.
Curiosity: We stay curious to address key problems in education and to keep growing as individuals and as an organization.
Outcomes:
Develop a strong sense of connectivity, community, and leadership.
Practice challenging conventional norms while dreaming up bright possibilities for their communities.
Gain practical strategies and frameworks to operationalize liberatory leadership practices in their daily work.
The post-secondary field leadership infrastructure will be strengthened through connectivity and collective practice of participants.

Communities of Practice
Rebus helps institutions and organizations strengthen their teams through professional development communities of practice. We design and facilitate spaces for your team to build leadership skills, deepen their practice, and connect with peers, expanding outward from individual practice to colleagues, community, and beyond.
Rising Tides Open Education Leadership Program
Rebus will facilitate a professional development community of practice for BCcampus in Fall 2026. Through four 90-minute virtual sessions, participants will explore how to sustain, nurture, and grow open education efforts – moving outward through concentric circles of impact: self, colleagues and students, community, and province. The program is designed to strengthen participants’ leadership skills, deepen practice, and connect with peers working to advance open education across the province. Participants will collaborate on a final project to share their learning.
